Contour markings for special vehicles and lorries

We are your specialist for the appropriate fitting of your operational and special vehicles with warning markings of all kinds. On European roads, many vehicles such as lorries, but also municipal and federal vehicles, must be recognisable in various ways.

In addition to our warning marking sets, which are very common on German motorways and in many other contexts, we would like to introduce our contour markings. We use products from ORALITE and 3M for this purpose. These contour markings are applied to the sides of lorries, trailers and semi-trailers, as well as other special vehicles that require increased visibility on the road.

How is the placement of contour markings regulated?

The range of applications is indeed wide. The basis for the properties of such marking tapes with retro-reflective characteristics is formed by ECE 104. All of the products we offer comply with this European regulation on technical requirements. The regulation lists three classes: E, D and the highest class C. The latter corresponds to our standard and refers directly to outline markings.

The directive is known as part of Regulation 48 and has long been rather vague. Now, in addition to vehicle classes, the characteristics of the markings themselves are also covered. Contour markings for lorries and trailers contribute to increased visibility and, with our customisation options, can also make your company or institution more easily recognisable.

Our products: Contour markings from ORALITE and 3M

We offer the ORALITE VC 104+ contour marking in two different versions. With retro-reflective class C and the ECE-104 watermark, this product is certified for the applications you need for your lorry, trailer or semi-trailer. ORALITE's microprismatic technology scores highly with its excellent visibility. Another advantage: these films do not require edge sealing and are extremely flexible to apply. They adhere excellently to smooth, painted surfaces.

The rolls are 50 mm wide and are available from us in the following lengths: 5, 10, 25 or 50 metres. In addition to the standard version, we also offer ORALITE contour markings with your logo. Purchase a set from us consisting of 12 rolls with a total of 60 running metres. The print on the white contour tapes can be multicoloured. We also label the yellow contour markings with black and the red ones with white prints.

We offer 3M contour markings in the 953 and 983 series. The former are rather thin, very flexible and therefore particularly easy to apply to the surfaces of your lorries and trailers. They are ideal for fitting to fixed structures and have been awarded the ECE 104 watermark for excellent adhesive strength on smooth painted surfaces.

Apply contour markings as segments to your vehicles and superstructures

In addition to the tapes, we also offer rolls with contour segments. Both variants are also from ORALITE. The first version consists of contour markings that are applied to flat structures in the form of a dashed line. They are highly visible.

Please ensure that you only apply these ORALITE contour markings to new tarpaulins (no older than 6 months), as otherwise perfect adhesion cannot be guaranteed. Correctly applied contours last up to 3 years. The segment size is 50 × 50.2 mm.

The other variant has been specially developed for contour marking of tanks. It also features the watermark and adheres excellently to painted and smooth surfaces. The microprismatic segments measure 160 × 50 mm.
